Come stay in the Historic District of LeDroit Park! Designed by French architect James McGill to contain Gothic-style Italian Villas, Ledroit Park is preserved to its archaeological appearance in 1873. Today if offers a residential enclave positioned minutes from the bustling Shaw District, Howard University, and the creative and culturally rich U Street corridor. The neighborhood boasts several of the best restaurants in the District of Columbia, two microbreweries, close proximity to the metro, and a historic walking trail.

Shaw's Tavern
An American tavern with a southern flair named after General Shaw. They offer one of the best burgers in DC and delicious wood fired pizza at an affordable price. Half price pizza and burgers every Monday through Thursday from 5PM 7PM, and Tuesday from 5PM 10PM. (about $10/person)

The Red Hen
An Italian-influenced American restaurant, serving hand-made pastas and fresh baked bread. Our favorite and a consistently top 10 ranked DC restaurant! (about $20/person)

Thai X-ing
An eclectic and intimate thai restaurant, nestled into the first floor of a local rowhome. All meals are cooked homemade by the owner using traditional family recipes. Consistently ranked the top Thai restaurant in the DC, Maryland, Virginia area. Make reservations in advance. (about $30/person). Of note, Baeu Thai is a less expensive Thai restaurant that delivers.

A Japanese shop, known for its kozara “small nibblings” and delightful Sopporo-style Raman. Food, ambience, service, and price are all excellent. (about $15/person). Of note, Daikaya in Chinatown DC and Toki Underground in H St NE are Raman restaurants well worth the short distance.

DCity Smokehouse
The finest and freshest barbeque joint in town. Great for lunch or dinner. (about $10/person).

Specializing in gourmet sausage, this establishment has a unique vibe. (about $10/person)

Proudly serving chunky, juicy, and crispy Nashville Style Friend Chicken and other southern delights. (about $10-$15/person)

Rustik Tavern
Brick Oven Pizza and Beer. Best Local pizza. (about $15/pizza)

Oohs and Aaahs Sould Food
One of the original U street corridor establishments, serving traditional soul food and featured on numerous food network channels. Known for chicken and waffles, macaroni and cheese, and collard greens. ($15/meal, which can feed two)

Duke Nukem Ethiopian
Traditional Ethiopian food with live music. The best Ethiopian food in the District.

The best local sandwich. It’s a little further of a walk, but if you’re attending a conference at the Convention Center or walking mid-day to Chinatown or the National Mall, it’s on your way.

Reservations/Cancellations: You can cancel free of charge 7 days prior to your check-in date.  You will be charged a one-night stay deposit at the time of booking. If you need to cancel or change your reservation, please give us a call or send us an email. If you made a reservation through a third party (Expedia,, etc.) please contact them directly to make changes to your reservation. 

Check-in anytime after 3:00 PM, however you are welcome to arrive before then to drop your bags off (if the room is not ready). If we are away from the front desk when you arrive, we will reach out with self check-in instructions and leave a a packet on desk. Check-out: 11:00 AM. You are welcome to leave your bags at the house past check-out. 

We do have stairs (no elevator) and can carry bags during business hours. If you arrive after hours, you can leave heavy bags by the fireplace and we will help carry them up in the morning. 

We have several parking spots in a small lot at the end of the block. If you park in the lot, the charge is $15 a night There is also free street parking in the neighborhood - a map at the BnB details the free street parking options.  When you arrive, pull over anywhere out front, ring the doorbell, and we will take you to parking. In the very rare event that our lot and street parking is full, Howard University offers a lot for $14.
