Parking: We have five parking spots at the end of the block. When you arrive, pull over anywhere out front and ring the door bell - and we will come out and show you the parking spots. The cost of parking in our lot is $10 a night.

Getting Around: We highly recommend using Uber or Lyft to get around D.C. It is the easiest & the cheapest (especially if you have more than one person in your party). They will pick you up at the front door within minutes and drop you off wherever you want to go.

Directions from Metro: The closest metro station is the Shaw/Howard University Exit (green and yellow line). From the station, follow signs for Howard University exit. Follow the red line below. Walk north until T street, turn right until you get to 6th st NW, cross Florida Ave and turn right on T st (behind purple/blue house), walk two blocks and we are just past the stop light - light blue house.

From Ronald Raegan Airport (DCA): Our house is located 6 miles (9.66 km) from the DCA airport. We recommend taking the metro or an Uber/Lyft. If you come by metro, take the yellow line to the Shaw/Howard University metro station and follow signs for the Howard University Exit. We are 8 stops away, it takes roughly 20 minutes on the metro, and it costs approximately $3 dollars. You can also order an Uber. It will cost around $15 dollars and takes about 15-25 minutes depending on traffic. Taxi are also available at the airport at a cost around $25 dollars. During rush hour, the metro is typically the fastest route.

From Dulles Airport:The Dulles airport is approximately 30 miles outside Washington, DC. The trip generally takes 45 minutes to 1 hour by car and 1.5 hours by metro to travel into the city. To take the metro, look for signs that say Silver line/shuttle bus. The shuttle will take you to the Wiehle-Reston East metro stop at the end of the silver line. Take the metro to L’Efant Plaza, transfer to the yellow or green line, and get off at the Shaw-Howard University metro. The shuttle and metro ride are each about $5. Uber will cost about $50 dollars and a taxi will cost about $100 dollars. There is also a SuperShuttle that can be booked ahead of time on line that costs approx. $35 a person.

From BWI: BWI is located outside Baltimore. The easiest route to Washington, DC from BWI is to take the free shuttle to the train station (5 minute ride). We recommend taking the MARC train (about $7, 45 minutes), but Amtrak is also an option (usually $17-$30, 30 minutes). You can also take an Uber for around $50 and a taxi for around $100.

From Union Station (Train or Bus Station): We’re located 1.6 miles from Union Station. With two people, uber is usually cheaper and faster than the metro (about $7). A taxi stand is also available outside the station, and costs about $10-$12. The metro is also a great option and there are signs inside the station providing guidance to the metro entrance. Take the red line to Gallery Place/Chinatown, transfer to the Yellow or Green line, and exit at the Shaw/Howard University Metro Station.
